Maintaining your Hardwood Floors

Ellie Keller

All it takes is 5 simple steps!

Step 1: Sweep or Vacuum

Before using any cleaner, get rid of dust and crumbs by sweeping or vacuuming

Step 2: Use hardwood floor cleaner and a dry mop:

1.   Spray cleaner on the floor

2.   Wipe using a dry mop

3.   Always mop with the grain, not against it

Step 3: Spot clean small areas:

A lightly dampened cloth and cleaning product can be used for tougher areas.

Step 4: Keep Them Dry:

Water and wood do not mix. Clean up spills ASAP, and never use a wet mop to clean your floors.

Step 5: Get a Screen & Coat Regularly:

A screen & coat will get rid of minor scratches and keep your floors looking new. Schedule these when your floors start to look dry or dull.
